Festka

is based in the heart of Europe.

Drawing on the cycling tradition of the Czech Republic, we produce top quality hand crafted frames from carbon, titanium and steel.

In Festka I focus on development of titan products.

I concentrate on complex perspective as we need to combine construction, design and final characteristics in order to keep continuity. I look at the future product with respect to its design because our philosophy defines our products by their particularity just like our customers are individuals. I like the fact that Festka is not afraid to aim high and look for solutions. It is no surprise that titan came along. Cooperation with Festka is my way to follow up with the time when I constructed Morati bicycles. There is a history of titan in the Czech republic and although it was left off for a while, it could be renovated. I believe that if a person has something to offer and feels the urge to realize it, they should do it. Titan has always been my thing, not just a profession. I really enjoy constructing and exploring this exclusive and quality material.

Svatopluk Zatloukal – Master Of Titanium

Our frames are made with precision, dedication and love.

We produce 500 hand made and hand painted bicycles a year. Each one of them is a bit different and every piece is very much unique. A Festka always reflects its rider and their needs. We invest a lot into development and every new model is a fusion of construction alchemy and riding experience. We make our own tubes from carbon fibre, carefully weld top class Italian stainless steel tubes from Columbus and precisely shape noble titanium tubes. Our goal is to make state of the art bicycles that are effective, attractive and efficient.

When I was racing I never called it work although it actually was my job.

Now, in Festka I feel the same way. Another aspect that is similar to racing is the fact that we are a team that works together. In cycling, ego needs to surrender to team spirit, only then everybody can enjoy victory. I don’t limit myself to a goal, I find vision to be more important.
I feel and believe that we are doing something meaningful not just for our sake but for our customers. I never knew how it felt when clients appreciated my work. Now I know because they tell me so. We build bicycles for people so that they can enjoy cycling more. Our products indicate how far we have come. They carry memories and provide reflection. Through them I learnt to look ahead and to never stop improving. My ambition is to keep up the passion and to stay curious. Only then I can devote myself to total cycling. My coach used to ask that of me and I didn’t quite know what he meant. I know now.

Michael Moureček – founder

I used to work for agencies where I was told what to do and how to do it.

Once we see it evolve in our hands, we feel an indescribable something that is great. I used to construct welding jigs for automobile factories, super-structures for trucks and sale stands for shops. Working for Festka was my dream ever since I got together with the boys and started sketching first frames. Back then we would meet at a garage in the suburbs and try to work it out. Some of our prototypes are still stored in the basement. I enjoy the challenges that Festka brings. Not just frames but everything that goes with building them. I want to construct things that function well and make people happy. I work at Festka because I enjoy working on our own projects with like minded people.

Tomáš Hnida – art director

I don’t work for Festka, I live it.

I have managed to unify my life into one segment and I no longer have to separate my activities into before and after work. Everything is one stream. Of course we have great ambitions like winning one of the NAHBS categories but primarily I live here and now and try to find joy in the small stuff. I learnt not to look too far forward because viewpoints change with time and therefore the goals may shift. When I look back at the bikes we produced, I see more clearly what could have been different meaning done better and easier. I tend not to set goals for myself because reaching them means you become less determined and eager. I believe that everything has its own time. When I was about thirteen I wanted to become a member of a cycling team but I wasn’t accepted for some odd reason. Here I am now, devoted to cycling, giving it my best.

Ondřej Novotný – founder

We strongly believe in a personal approach to customers whom we guide through the construction process be it online or face to face. Personalised design of each bike is an important part of the story and we pay special attention to impeccable finish.

I build and fix bicycles.

I have done it ever since I can remember. In 1993 I started to attend races as a mechanic of the Czechoslovak National Mountain Bike Team (CS MTB Team). After that I would take care of the representation up until 2008. Offer from Festka came at the right time. Timing is important to me and so is a chance to participate on developing an ambitious project. I want to be better in what I do because people should always evolve. Taking part in developing new things is a motor that is driving me forward. It started when I cooperated with Morati and continued with Superior. Festka is my way to evolve in the field that is my passion. It is a challenge and pleasure in one. I enjoy watching people’s attitude towards our projects. Czech people tend to disregard new things but Festka doesn’t give a damn and keeps going. Like I say: “Better off dead than disco - never follow mainstream”.

Jan “Dlouhán” Přistoupil – mechanic

Men, design engineers in particular, share a certain need to develop something.

Lukáš Svoboda – engineer

Our service includes component selection and advice. There is a 10 years warranty on each frame and lifetime service option. Buying a Festka is like marrying into a family of riders.

When I think about what I will do when I grow up, I always come to a point of wanting to do what I like.

Festka immediately represents three of my favorite things. Sport for one as a movement in any form and the base of healthy life. Cycling to me is an elegant hard work that combines well with my beloved yoga. Second on my list, design. I see Festka as an aesthetic attitude defined by team work that is not a duty but mutual passion to create something beautiful and functional. Third item is ecology because if we want to enjoy the beauty of this world we have to take care of it. I like being a part of Festka team. Initially I was only looking for a nice city bike and I found cycling inclusive of carbon fiber composites and home videos about welding steel. In Festka I constantly learn something new and have fun exploring.
